Matt Clarke, Technical Product Manager
My background
Like many people who passed through childhood in the early 90’s when computers became affordable, house-hold objects, I grew up with them and saw, year after year, the technology advance in complexity and capability. At a young age, I decided I wanted to be part of that and pursue a career in computerized entertainment, specifically gaming and interactive experiences, and as such eventually attended university to study Computer Game Design & Development.
My experiences
After completing my course and earning a first class degree, I joined a game development firm in North East England, where I worked for 6 years holding a variety of positions. While there, I learned a lot of valuable (and sometimes challenging) lessons regarding pragmatic working practices, effective time management, technological capabilities, man-management and how work-culture permeates every aspect of the development process for better or worse.
After leaving my former workplace in 2014, I realized I’d ‘had my fill’ of the gaming industry and didn’t want to return to the intensity of such a business again, and instead wanted to find somewhere that offered a better work-life balance. And lucky me - I found it!

LessAlick Gardiner, Test Analyst
My background
Having always had a passion for programming, I did my degree in Computer Games Programming. After working in IT, I found I wanted a better overall view of the products/projects and to have more input. For that reason, I felt better suited for a role in QA and so I retrained.
After leaving university, I had a number of jobs ranging from working in a call center through to being a branch manager for a large bank. The call to IT was too great and I went back in starting in games, then contracting before finally moving to Performance Horizon.
After experiencing the extremely rigid side of QA, I wanted to work for an organization that would give me some freedom and encourage me to learn new skills.
My experiences
I have had experience of working on a number of new features and enjoyed them all. You get to understand the impact that your work has on the product and get a feeling of appreciation.
I get great satisfaction when work is shown and shouted about within the company.

LessKaryn Tooke, Application, Support Manager
My background
I started out in the Department for Work and Pensions working in various administration roles before finding my passion in IT. From there, I gained an understanding of how servers and networks operate in large organizations by managing office relocations. I made my way into the world of tech as a Service Improvement Analyst, creating policy and process documentation to support various internal teams and to better manage our suppliers. I now manage the Performance Horizon Application Support Team, where I ensure incoming technical requests are managed to a high level of customer satisfaction.
My experiences
My most memorable experience is the warm welcome I received from the tech team. Although I was a little apprehensive about joining, when I arrived I was immediately made to feel part of the family - lots of support and no one ever too busy to help!

Would I recommend Performance Horizon as a place to work? Yes 100%! I always tell people how much I enjoy working at Performance Horizon – no two days are ever the same and we’re doing some really cool things in the market/industry. As an individual and as a manager, I feel I’m encouraged to think big and with a strong team around me. I’m confident we’ve got the right people for continued growth.

My background
I took a rather unconventional route into the digital partner marketing space. Although I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in marketing, I decided to teach English as a second language right after graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara. For over three years, I lived and taught in Greece, Vietnam and Australia. My students ranged from elementary to university/professional students.
While I loved teaching, I knew that my career passion was marketing. So, in 2010, I moved to San Francisco and started my career in digital partner marketing with Commission Junction. In nearly 4 years at CJ, I moved through several roles before eventually moving over to the agency side of the business at ROI DNA. There, I ran several software affiliate programs and started the Virgin America affiliate program.
I was introduced to Mal Cowley by my former contact at Expedia. Once I met the team and saw Performance Horizon Enterprise, I knew Performance Horizon was something I absolutely had to be a part of.
My experiences
When I started at Performance Horizon, it was just me and two others in the San Francisco office. Since then, we have substantially increased our headcount and currently have 14 people and counting! It’s been amazing to see the office and the company grow and I cannot wait to see the great things we have ahead of us.
